Harnessing family capacity – what does this really mean?

We are excited to partner with Nairn Walker from Social Solutions to deliver training that will unpack this topic to help you to recognise key constructs for understanding human behaviour to inform strategies and make sense of decision making.

Using a strengths-based approach, you will identify key principles of practice and apply the materials to your professional settings. This will assist you to identify and build upon family strengths to increase family capacity and child outcomes.

To allow you time to properly digest and process the materials, including how to best apply them in your individual settings, this workshop will be held over two afternoons.

Any practitioners working with children and families in:

  • early childhood intervention (ECI)
  • early childhood education and care (ECEC)
  • case managers
  • support coordinators
  • family services
  • family violence practitioners, and
  • community organisations.

Meet our presenter

Having spent 30 years as a licensed trainer with Dr Ruby Payne’s company providing Bridges out of Poverty and A Framework for Understanding and other Aha! Process trainings, our presenter Nairn Walker has developed a unique, strengths-based offering that draws upon her expertise, as well as the research, methodologies and constructs gathered, developed and blended from many other places and many other authors.
