Early Childhood Intervention Australia Victoria/Tasmania Limited (ECIA VIC/TAS) is the peak organisation representing and supporting early childhood intervention (ECI) and those involved in it.
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the organisation undertakes to lead, strengthen and provide a voice for the ECI sector by:
- Working with government representatives to influence policy
- Promoting quality services
- Providing and promoting professional development
- Building collective wisdom and knowledge
- Promoting and disseminating research
- Building community awareness, and
- Developing linkages with other relevant organisations
We work to achieve the ultimate aim of positive outcomes for professionals, children and families, advocating at all levels of government, for better access, participation and inclusion of children with disability and their families into their community.
Our representatives respond to position papers or productivity commission enquiries into current issues that affect the lives of young children with disability and their families, as well as lobby the various levels of governments - local, state and federal.
The focus is on developing relationships with key stakeholders in order to promote and advocate for the rights and the needs of young children with disability and their families.
